The rhinovirus is the most common type of virus that causes colds • Method of Transmission • Can be transmitted via Coughs, sneezes and eating utensils, etc. • Airborne, enters through the respiratory tract of a susceptible host • Time Period • Could be a little as 12 or as much as 72 hours to incubate • Could last up to from 3 days to 2 weeks • Length of Communicability • Approximately 1 day before the symptoms began to 2-3 days after severe illness. • Signs & Symptoms • Very contagious infection of the upper respiratory tract, low grade fever, chills, runny nose, soar throat, muscle & headaches and feeling of fatigue.
