Membership ServicesAIPLA will support the professional and intellectual growth of its members through a flexible organizational framework and innovative channels of communication, delivering outstanding services, cost-effective programs and mentoring opportunities, thereby ensuring that AIPLA remains the premier intellectual property association, and attracts IP professionals from around the world. • Key actions and next steps: • Membership Recruitment and Renewals • Ongoing. Have collected 93% of currently budgeted membership. • Membership Marketing Plan presented to Board, Membership Committee • 360 Programs Roundtable • report and recommendations for Board presented in October • Fellows Leadership Training Project - ongoing • In progress: • Membership Committee integration with marketing and membership growth continues • Membership Committee Report with new category recommendation for 12/12/12 Board Meeting. • Member survey results

  2. Advocacy - AIPLA will provide crucial leadership and unbiased analysis leading the way for world-class policy and decision-making, while attracting membership, ideas, and resources as a highly sought after and respected thought leader.

Public Education – AIPLA will educate the public about the daily value of intellectual property so that its importance is understood and appreciated. • Key actions and next steps: • Working with Marketing & Communications Director Lorri Ragan on Distribution Channels and Creativity in Bloom Website • Continuing joint efforts with PTO, others (World IP Day, PTO Trademark Expo, Educational Outreach from the Trademark Office on protecting your brand) • Working on potential “Town Hall” public forum on IP with Emerging Technologies Committee • Working on Education Outreach Event as a part of AIPLA 360 Local Outreach Project • Working on potential Joint Events with new partners [e.g. FBLA] • Determine best approach for gauging public opinion/awareness – public opinion research

Global Outreach – AIPLA will expand its influence to the global community and provide leadership and guidance for the development of sound global intellectual property standards, laws and policies. • Key actions and next steps: • IP Practice in Latin American delegation visit completed (8/12) • Visit from the KIPO Commissioner (at AIPLA) (8/12) • Upcoming trips – Delegation to Havana Cuba, November 2012. • Continued work on aligning international committees to target and liaison with key global organizations • Survey of international committee trips conducted, analyzing results
