Last year’s Year 11 • 74% 5A*-C grades – up 2% and the best ever for the third year running. • 36% of grades at A*/A/B • 72 students achieved 10 or more A*-C – double the previous year • 17 students achieved 12 or more A*-C • 2 students achieved 14 or more A*-C • Average Points Score 430.2 – up 23 points

  3. What is the prom? • A reward to celebrate the successful completion of year 11 • A formal event • A three course meal with the menu chosen by the students during the course of year 11 • A disco • Arrive at 6.30 pm; concludes 11.30 pm • A coach is available to and from (depending on demand)

  4. Why have the passport? • Recognises students for carrying the day to day core duties of being a student • It logs successes and contributions made throughout the year • It is a good way of tracking progress • It is a way of feeling success in achieving a definite goal

  5. What needs to be achieved to get to the prom? • Meet individual target grades • Complete college/job/training applications and associated paperwork • Turn up to college on time and have a good attendance record • Get involved in extra curricular activities • Make a contribution to college life and the local community • Claim credits for achievements

  6. All parts to be completed for successful application. • It is the responsibility of students to ensure their passport is kept up to date. • Targets set in subjects are ambitious but realistic and based on data and information personal to the student. • Non-curricular targets are the same for all students and have to be met in their entirety. • Credits should be collected in the diary by students and signed in the Passport by their tutor.

  7. The following circumstances, during Year 11, will mean immediate non-attendance to the Prom: • an exclusion • more than one isolation • breaking the rules on a trip or at a College event • bringing the College’s reputation into disrepute. • Spoiled or poorly presented Passports will not be considered. • Students need to ensure that all paperwork and payments are submitted on time. The Passport earns an invitation but students must ensure they have returned the acceptance and payment. • Final decisions about Prom attendance, Merit Awards and Gold Ties will rest with Mr Snape, Mrs Bartella and Mr Coote.

  8. Targets • Subjects targets are based on individual’s ability and aspirationally realistic • Punctuality – 5 lates • Attendance – 92% • After school detentions – 4 • Patrol calls – 2 • Credits - 100

  9. Earning and claiming credits – students can receive credits, but there are some which they will need to claim. • Exceeding target grade in an assessment point: 3 credits • Achieving target grade in a subject at assessment points: 2 credits • Achieving target grade in a module test: 4 credits • Achieving target grade in mocks (per subject): 2 credits • Achieving/exceeding target grade in a controlled assessment: 6/10 credits

Completing My Maths tasks (per task): 1 credit • Submitting revision essays in English (per essay): 3 credits • Attending a lunch/after school club (per session) e.g. homework club, reading group, TAP, etc.: 1 credit • Attending revision session in a subject: 2 credits • Competing in ‘Interform’ activity (start to end): 5 credits • Taking part in tutor group community week – • litter duty (per day): 1 credit • chairs (per day): 1 credit

  11. Register monitor: successful and on time (per week): 3 credits • Completing mentor paperwork and attending review meeting (per assessment point): 2 credits • Every three breakfast club sessions: 1 credit • Successful completion of your language oral: 3 credits • Representing the College in sports or at an after school event: 2 credits • Presenting or leading an assembly: 5 credits • Every three PE lessons completed with correct kit: 1 credit

  12. Timings • Monday 19th September until Friday 30th March 2012 (Easter). • Spring term – Feb/Mar: students ensure their paperwork is complete and ready for submission. Late submission or incomplete may mean they miss out on a place. • After the Easter break invitations will be confirmed. • Proposed date: Friday 6th July.
