  1. MCFRS Mobile Data Computer (MDC) In-Station Training Tutorial Welcome to the MDC In-Station Training Tutorial. This module is designed to introduce you to the PS2000 Mobile Data Computer.   2. MCFRS Mobile Data Computer (MDC) In-Station Training Tutorial Your shift has been pretty smooth so far today. As you’re reading the newspaper, you’re called to an event. Time to go… Press the Enter key to continue.

  3. Event Received M309, you have been dispatched to an event at 100 Maryland Ave. For the system to remember the address for later use, press the Enter key once.

  4. AltarisView Map Detail Destination Current Location When you are dispatched to an event, you will also have directions available via AltarisView, the map portion of the MDC. You will see that you have a running route from your current location to the destination. Press the Spacebar to return to the CAD screens. In class, you will learn how to switch back within the system.

  5. Event Received Click the Status (Stat) button once to see the status screen.

  6. Status You have been dispatched for the event on Maryland Ave. You’re in the apparatus and on your way; click the Enroute (ENR) button once.

  7. Unit Enroute After pressing the ENR button, the system will confirm that’s the message it received. Time has passed and you have arrived. Click the Onscene (ON) button once. M309, the system recognizes that you’re enroute.

  8. Unit Onscene Click the Available on Radio (AOR) button once. You find that this was a simple event to handle. No transport is needed and you are able to head back to the station. M309, the system recognizes that you’re onscene.

  9. Unit Cleared Otherwise, the system would take you directly to the next screen. In this case, press the Spacebar once and you will see the next screen anyway. If you were the last unit to mark yourself available again, you would see this message, which says you’re cleared from the event and the event is closed.

  10. Available on Radio Time has passed and you have arrived back at the station. Click the Available in Quarters (AIQ) button once. M309, the system recognizes that you are Available on the Radio.

  11. Available in Quarters This scenario is now complete. Please press the Esc key on your keyboard. M309, the system recognizes that you are now Available in Quarters.
