  3. SUMMARIES OF THE GREAT AND MAGNIFICENT: Old Age Sticks & Anyone Lived In a Pretty How Town • Old Age sticks up KEEP OFF signs • Youth yanks them down • Old age cries NO TRESPASSING • Youth laughs and sings • Old age scolds FORBIDDEN STOP MUSN’T DON’T • Youth goes right on growing old

OLD AGE STICKS • The main point: • People will always defy rules set by “society” • Young people will always be rebellious against older people and people in powerful positions • The Message: • That even though the Youth may rebel against the Old Age it eventually will become what it was trying to defy

  8. Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town • This is a story of “Anyone” and “no one” • The poem describes the way people go through life, to busy to notice the big changes in their life • Ex. Marriage, Death, Birthdays • When Anyone and Noone get married they become “Someones” and “Everyones” • When they died no one remembered them and they became “Anyone” and “Noone” again
