  2. Who is Botticelli? • Sandro Botticelli-Real name Alessandro di Mariano Filipepi • One of leading painters of the Florentine Renaissance

  3. Born in Florence, Italy on March 1, 1445.   9. Family • Father- Mariano di Vanno Filipepi. Was 50 years old when had Sandro • Mother- Was 40 years old when she had Sandro • Giovanni- Oldest brother. Nicknamed Botticella (keg or barrel). Sandro being the youngest is Botticelli (little barrel) • Second son was goldsmith.   10. Death Ognissanti Church • Died May 17, 1510 • Was 65 years old • Some say he died poor and unnaccomplished.
