  3. Matthew 11:12 “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”

  4. The humble heart… “If My people, who are called by My name…”(IIChron.7:14) Definition of “humble”: • Conscious of one’s failings • Unpretentious, lowly • Deferential or servile • To lower in status

The Humble heart… “God resist the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”(James 4:6 & 1Peter 5:5) “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” (Isaiah 57:15) “I will leave in your midst a meek and humble people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.” (Zeph.3:12)

  6. The Humble Heart… “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”(1Peter 5:5-7)

  7. The Humble Heart… When God lifts you up, people will become jealous. Do not deal with it yourself. Give it to Him. (Numbers 12) Characteristics of a humble heart: • Submit all your ways to God • Be more concerned what God thinks about you • Humble people are not easily offended • Quick to listen, slow to speak • Quick to learn, slow to teach • Quick to repent • Always ready to serve • Seek to make others look good • Quick to give glory to God

  8. The Humble Heart… The higher your position, the lower your sight should be. “Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.” (Rom.12:16)

  10. How to humble yourself • Examine your ways when alone with God. • Desire God’s opinion about every person and situation. • Kneel physically, in your mind and heart before God and people. • Be ready to give up everything.
