Basic vs final website

Basic vs. Final Website

  • Basic website:

    • Will be used as the basis for a peer review activity

    • Publish by logging into ONID and using ftp://ftp.onid.orst.edu/public_html/

    • Which makes files available at

Peer review

Peer Review

  • Each student will look at three other websites and evaluate their quality.

  • You will prepare a series of PowerPoint slide and three on-screen videos discussing your conclusions …

Final website

Final Website

  • Final website:

    • Hopefully will benefit from the ideas that come from your peer review

    • Should contain your best, finished ideas

    • Will be graded subjectively by your instructor based on writing quality, content, style, and creativity.

Ideas about feedback forms

Ideas about feedback forms

  • Your website must include a feedback form that will send you an email message

  • You will start with these feedback form instructions

  • You should build a form that makes good sense for your website’s purpose

Thinking about borders

Thinking about borders

  • Nearly all websites use a logo or graphic in a top shared border

  • Some sample websites

Creating an interactive website of value

Creating an interactive website of value

Information-only website are dull because they “talk at” you.

Think through what you would like to know about the people who visit your website.

You do not need to complete the site to take full advantage of what visitors tell you – build a prototype.
