  2. Definition of Hanfu • Hanfu, literally means the clothing (fu) of Han Chinese, is the traditional Chinese costume. • A recorded history of more than 3000 years

History of Hanfu • Said to have been worn by the legendary Yellow Emperor in the 27th century BC - 《Yi Jing》 • The Shang Dynasty (1600 BC-1000 BC) developed the rudiments of Hanfu: Yi & Shang • The Zhou Dynasty (1122 BCto 256 BC) formulated a set of exhaustive and thorough etiquette of Hanfu -《Li Ji》

  4. Basic Characteristics of Hanfu • Basic Characteristics: • Crossed Collars • Tying to the Right • Long and Loose Sleeves • These basic characteristics remain constant from Shang, Zhou through Ming Dynasty.
