  1. Countries Group 4 Anna Nigicser Eszter Adamik MooYung Sun Saro Kkć

  2. Country presentation • The choice of the country I will present is a bit difficult for me, because I am Croatian, but my parents are from Bosnia and Hercegovina, and I was born and raised in Germany. So actually I would have to present three countries because all of them had and have an impact on me. To make it easy. Because I am studying in Germany, I will present this country and a little bit my hometown Coburg. • Germany as approximately 82 Million inhabitants, and thus the most populated country in Europe. It covers a territory of around 360.000 km² and is divided in 16 federal states (dt.: Bundesländer). It lies in the Centre of Europe with the following 9 neighboring countries: • Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium,The Netherlands • The official language is German and the Capital is Berlin. The national holiday is the 3rd of October, the day of the official unification of East and West Germany, and the national anthem is the third stanza of “The song of the Germans”.

  3. Country presentation • Geographically is Germany a diverse country, because in the North it is bordering the North and the Baltic Sea and in the South the Alps (these are around 876 km!). • The political system is a federal, representative democracy. The judicial power is the Bundesverfassungsgericht, the legislative is the Bundestag and the Bundesrat (which consists of the federal governments) and the executive power is the national government. The head of state is Christian Wulff and the head of government is Chancellor Angela Merkel, from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party. As Germany has a multiparty system, you can find all in all 5 major parties on the national level: Christian Democratic Union of Germany / Christian Social Union of Bavaria(CDU/CSU), Socialdemocratic Party of Germany (SPD), Free Democratic Party (FDP), Bündnis 90/ The Greens,The Left. The government consists at the moment of two parties, the CDU/CSU and the FDP. Germany is founding member of the European Union and is moreover member of the United Nations, the NATO, OSCE, OECD, Council of Europe and the G8 and G20. The German Economy is, measured with the nominal GDP, the biggest national economy in Europe and the 4th biggest in the world. The GDP is about $ 3.667 Billion. Germany is with 16 other countries part of the Eurozone, i.e. the currency is the Euro.

  4. Country presentation • My hometown Coburg lies in the North of Bavaria in the Region Oberfranken. It has around 41.000 inhabitants and consists of 12 parts. The next bigger city is Nürnberg. The landmark of the city is the VesteCoburg, the second biggest castle in Germany. • Due to the fact, that Coburg was once a dukedom, it is rich of historical buildings as its theater, another castle in the city center, the “Ehrenburg”, and other statues, e.g. from the former princes. Probably the most famous prince was Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who was married with Queen Victoria of United Kingdom and Ireland. The German population and culture is actually pretty diverse. The “land of poets and thinkers” as it is called, produced a lot of outstanding people and geniuses as to mention the poets Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Fridrich Schiller, philosophers as Emmanuel Kant, Franz Kafka and Friedrich Nietzsche, classical composers as Mozart, Bach and Beethoven, but as well famous scientists like Karl Benz or Albert Einstein. Still today Germans are well known for their strengths in especially sciences and innovations. Big enterprises as Volkswagen, Siemens, BASF or ThyssenKrupp are well known all around the world. Germany is on place number two, after the United States, in applying for a patent. And who could imagine to live without a car, a TV or toothpaste?

  5. The “everyday culture” of Germans consists of more than just being punctual, keeping order and working hard. As already mentioned, just looking on the big territory shows, that German culture is pretty diverse. Every region has its own traditions,e.g. there are around 53 different dialects. An integral part of German culture are sports. Especially soccer is the most popular sport. Anyway, more than 27,5 Million Germans are member in a sports club, this is a third of the population. To have a closer look on the people living in Germany, around 19.6% of people have a “Migration background” and 7.2 million foreigners are living in Germany. Migration background means all people who immigrated after 1950 and their descendants. The biggest groups are from: Turkey, Russia, Poland, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine. Country presentation

  6. “OUR” COUNTRY : Korea

  7. “OUR” COUNTRY : Korea As I said it before, Korean Culture is really team-oriented! We value on Society such as family or local society. That is the reason why I call my country as “OUR” country. In many case we use “our” not my. For instance, when we introduce the family, we use the ‘our-expression’ such as our-parents, our sister, our grandpa… So when you work with Korean, you should keep their time for his or her family activity Korea… Yeah it’s between China and Japan. Both of them have really strong characteristic and history. But we also have pride on our culture’s autonomy! For half ten thousands years, we have continued our culture. We lost our control for 100 years(Mongol50+Japan50) it is just 2% of our history! China, Japan, and Korea have similar but different culture Traditional Korean food Traditional Music

  8. “OUR” COUNTRY : Korea ( Why we don’t like China, and Japan) We handed a lot of cultures to Japan Victory after 7 years war B.C. 2333 Founded 1945. Continue to fight against China Separated For fifty years Japan Governed our country! (How dare you 2!) 16c. Japanese Sudden attack (How dare you!)

  9. “OUR” COUNTRY : Korea and Korea What do you think about the North Korea? Our government teach us North Korea is our enemy! Some of South Koreans really want to make war to conquer the North part. Government motivate the “Some Koreans” for their longer political life. Some of South Koreans have family on North part. And they are starving now China – help them Korea – fight them Now North Koreans are more friendly with Chinese than South Koreans… That’s the problem!

  10. Hungary The capital of Hungary is Budapest, which is thebiggest city inmy country, it has 1 733 685 inhabitants. Ourcurrency is the Forint

  11. Ourorigin: a contentiousissue Hungarianlanguage is relatedtofinnish Jewishreligion Over-population Uralic-speakingpeoplesplit-up Entering the Carpathian Basin inthe 890ies plunderage • Ungrianspeakersdistinguished • settled down nomadism The latest scientific research refutes the claim thatHungarians are genetically related to the Finn-Ugric peoples. The Asiatic origin of 9-bp is completely missing from the Hungarian population. We have found the Asiatic M haplo-group in the Finns, the Ezras and the Lapps, but we did not find it in a single Hungarian individual tested.

  14. Just a few sights of Hungary we’re proud of…  Visegrád + Danube Bend: just a beautiful view from the castle on the top of the hill. Visegrád was for several centuries the royal seat of Hungary. Our capital: Budapest, is included on the UNESCO list with it’s beautiful medieval Buda Castle quarter, the romantic Danube riverscape , termal bath’s and the city’s stunning architecture. Héviz: here is the worl’s largest termal lake suitable for bathing all year, since it’s temperature never drops below 79 F/ 26 C. Pécs: a cultural stronghold with both Roman and Turkish architecture. The city has a srtreet lined with museums and Pécs was the European Capitual of Culture in 2010.

  15. Just a few famous Hungarian people we’re proud of…  I thinkit’snot a secret, thatHungarianshavealwaysbeengoodatmusic, soI’dliketointroducethreemusicianswhostend out fromthecroud: The wild-hairedFerenc Liszt needs a littleintroduction; the 19th centurycomposer and pianist is one of thegreatsinthecanonofclassicalmusic, and established a musical academyinthecapital, Budapest. Zoltán Kodály, bornjust a yearafter Bartók, wassimilarlyfascinatedbyfolksongs. Aswellaswriting, Kodáylfamouslydevised a unique and radicalway of teachingmusictostudents. Béla Bartók took inspiration from the traditional folk music of the country’s villages for his compositions during the early 20th century.

  16. Just a few famous Hungarian people we’re proud of…  Hungarian inventions range from the life-changing to the purely entertaining. Albert Szent-Györgyi was the first to discover vitamin C, after extracting it from paprika in the 1930s. It was Ernő Rubik who came up with the world’s best-known toy – the coloured cube puzzle: Rubic’s cube Ferenc Puskás, captain of the all-conquering Hungarian football team of the 1950s, passed away in 2006 having staked his claim to being one of the greatest footballers ever.
