  2. Needs Assessment • Learners that do not have the skills to use email. • There is 10 computers and Laptops and wireless connections are available. • Learners will be able to view overhead projector for step by step instructions.

  3. Instructional Goals Instructional goals The learner will develop and achieve emailing skills.

  4. Performance Objectives • Learning and skilling AOL email services. • Learner will email letter and attachment file for fellow classmate. • Learner will open and print letter with attachment.

  5. Assessment of Learning Outcomes • Learning and skilling AOL email services. • Email letter with attachment. • Receive and open email. • Verbal questioning and participation. • Correctly upload and send email with attachment. • Print email with attachment. Turn in. Performance Objective Assessment

  6. Learning Characteristics • There is will 10 – 15 students and they have no prior experience in using email. • Learners will need to have some computer and internet skills. • Learners are all female ages between 31-65.

  7. Learning Context • Instructional environment is in a computer lab set up with 10 computers but wireless connections are available for laptops. • Instructor has a projector screen set up so learners can follow step by step instructions if needed. • Printers are also set up and ready to perform last assessment task.

  8. Instructional Strategies • Introduction- Introduce the AOL ( American Online ) email services and web mail page. • 1. Give tour of the web mail page. •   A. showing them where the command tabs are •   B. showing them where folders are •   C. showing where the font tabs are •   D. showing them where the insert address and subject areas are. •    Exercise Quiz (Find area stated) • 2. Emailing a Letter •   A. insert email address properly •   B. insert a subject •   C. inserting typing letter •   D. how to change font, sizing, color •      Exercise Quiz ( type out letter with different fonts and colors ) • 3. Attaching a file •   A. properly click on attach command •   B. Finding folder where desired file is located. •   C. Opening folder to be attached to email •   D. checking to see if file has been properly attached •   E. Uploaded attachment is sent. •     Exercise Quiz ( attach a file ) • 4. Folders •   A. Saving to drafts •   B. Retrieving old emails •   C. Retrieving sent emails •   D. Spam •   E. Recently Deleted (restore and trash out ) •    Exercise Quiz (retrieve a old email) • 5. Sending a complete email with attachment •   A. insert email address and subject •   B. typing out letter using font commands •   C. locating file and attaching it to email •   D. upload and send attached email •  Exercise Quiz ( send each other attached emails ) • Conclusion • Turn in print email with attachment from group member • Summary • Hands on and visual training enhance step by step instruction. After this web based instructional training and group exercises will • enhance their motivation and emailing one another should be a goal reached to help with the groups organization skills.
