  1. ECU School of Nursing, Midwifery and Postgraduate Medicine are offering an Interprofessional Leadership Program for Undergraduate Students. This program consists of three extracurricular components: Leadership Knowledge: Successful applicants will be part of a one day Leadership Retreat, being held on the 19th of October 2007 from 8:30am to 5:00pm (lunch will be provided) at ECU Churchlands, Building 17, Room C101 Leadership Skills: Participants will attend a Foundation Leadership Session on the 30th of November 2007 between 9:00am and 12:00pm at ECU Churchlands, Building 19, Room NU9 and then six (6) two hour sessions over a period of six months. Leadership in Action: Students will work with on campus, as well as local organisations to provide strategic leadership in a community development project negotiated with the team leader and complete a minimum of 30 hours of work on their respective projects. The Leadership Development Program specifically targets the development of Leadership skills for UG students. Leadership and its practical application are highly valued and it is acknowledged that leadership is an essential attribute for professionals in Health Care. Being part of the Interprofessional Leadership Program will be great for your Nursing Portfolio and future job prospects.
