  1. Dennis Sabre Fire Appliances Godiva Water Pump Operations & use Start

  2. Water pump Shut off valve for Nearside High Pressure hose reel. Select ‘Foam’ or ‘Water’ (to be closed when not in use) Shut off valve for Offside High Pressure hose reel. Select ‘Foam’ or ‘Water’ (to be closed when not in use) Supply valve for High Pressure hose reels Low pressure deliveries Engine speed control. Suction fill coupling Please note filters must be used on open water. Main water tank to pump Shut off valve Pump drain taps For winter draining to prevent pump frost damage Hydrant fill to water tank NEXT

  3. PTO To select PTO With the engine running at tick over and the gearbox in Natural press the ‘MODE’ button When the PTO is engaged the red light will show on the selector To disengage the PTO press the ‘MODE’ button again. NEXT

  4. Fill Water tank from Hydrant Connect Hydrant hose to Hydrant fill and opening the hydrant to fill the tank Note;- Some vehicles have a manual or automatic shut off valve in addition or in place of a non return valve When the tank is full (water will over flow from the top vent) close the hydrant, close the tank fill valve, then carefully release the hydrant hose, it may still have some water pressure in the hose NEXT

  5. Supply the pump from Hydrant • Close main water tank to pump Shut off valve • Connect Hydrant hose to Hydrant fill and open the hydrant to feed the water pump • With the pump running you can now have water supply from either the low pressure ports of the High pressure hose reels • The more hydrant hoses the greater the flow rate of the pump (up to 3 for the 4 inch suction eye, 4 for the 6 inch eye) NEXT

  6. Supply the pump from open water • Connect the hard suction hose together and to the water pump • Fit the filter to the end of the hard hose This MUST be used in all cases to prevent damage to the pump • Close main water tank to pump Shut off valve • Run the pump at priming speed and observe the compound gauge read a vacuum • If no vacuum is shown check to see that there is no leaks on the suction pipe and that the basket is fully in the water • When pressure is shown on the Low pressure gauge open a delivery and allow the water to flow NEXT

  7. Low pressure water • Select water supply option. Main water tank or external supply. • Open Low pressure delivery valve as required. • When the water is not being used do not keep the pump running at higher revs as the water and the pump will over heat causing potential damage. NEXT

  8. High pressure water • Select water supply option. Main water tank or external supply. • Open supply valve for High Pressure hose reels • Select the setting for the shut off valve for the High Pressure hose reel (one for each side) • Select ‘Foam’ or ‘Water’ • Foam is supplied via the pick up tube (by hose reel or in pump bay) down the HP hose only and must always be flushed through after use. NEXT
