What software do we use to communicate to the NCF?

  • CX Motion NCF

Common Operating Memory Area

CJ1W-NCF71 uses 25 words depending on the unit # of the card

This card uses 1500 - 1524

Common Operating Memory Area Details

CIO 1501.00 Connect Bit to Start Mechatrollink II Communications

CIO 1522 Shows which axis are communicating

Using the I/O Table from CX Programmer

Right Mouse Click

CX Motion NCF

NCF Axis Map

Double Click to bring up the Axis Map

Memory Area Set-up

Double Click to bring up Unit Parameters

Memory Area Set-up

Output Memory Area takes up 25 words per Axis

Input Memory Area takes up 25 words per Axis

Take into account initially how many axis your system will have

If the Axis Operating Output Memory Area is set to WR 0 then Axis 1 will use WR0.00-W24.00

WR0.03 used to set Absolute Movement of the NCF

Axis Operating Output Memory Area Allocation

WR0.09 Jog Command (need to Speed Command Set)

Axis Operating Output Memory Area Allocation

Initially you need to do a Servo Lock WR1.00

Axis Operating Output Memory Area Allocation

Positioning Command WR2,WR3

If the Axis Operating Input Memory Area is set to WR 150 then Axis 1 will use WR150.00-W174.00

WR150.12 Error Flag

Axis Operating Input Memory Area

WR154 Axis Error Code – Go to Section 12-4 for more info

NCF Diagnostics

Select Unit Monitor

Present Position

Axis Monitor up to 4 Axis

You can change the selected axis to monitor

NCF Test Run

Click Test Run

Test Run Disclaimer

Click OK

Communication

Should come on

Test Run

1st select which axis you want to test

2nd Establish Communication

4th Write a jog speed to the controller

3rd Lock the Servo

5th Jog Forward or Reverse

Error Log

Click Error Log

Device Information

Let’s go online with the NCF and do a Test Run
