  2. 8th Grade Grad Requirements • Algebra and World Language: HS Credit Courses if you pass them with C or better • All students will take • English, Math, Science, History, PE, Elective, Advisory • 8th grade Promotion Requirements • No F grades, No U citizenship • No more than 10 tardies, 10% absences (excused or unexcused); or more than 2 truancies • No more than 2 suspensions. • No library or netbook fines • Summer School opportunities are limited; you do not want to be retained in 8th grade (that means repeating 8th grade) for failing your classes!!

  3. A-G • In order to be eligible to attend any school in the University of California (UC) or the California State University (CSU) systems as a freshman, you must take certain classes in high school. These classes are known as the "A-G Subjects” • A-G are also foundational courses for many schools nationwide, and community colleges • You must get a "C" or better in each of these classes to count towards college So what are the A-G requirements?

Class of 2018 & 2019 HS Graduation Requirements A-G SDUSD Grad Credit Requirements A-G (30 credits) Plus Gov’t (1 sem=1 credit) Econ (1 sem=1 credit) Science (1 year= 2 credits) PE (2 years= 4 credits): can be satisfied through JROTC or a sport Career-Technical Education or Other Electives (3 years= 6 credits) Total Credits=44

  7. Graduating High School • Meet all SDUSD Graduation Requirements • 44 credits • Minimum 2.0 gpa (C average) • Computer Proficiency • Pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) • Start taking in 10th grade • Test on 7-10th grade material
