  31. Troubleshooting Not being selected for a position, is not the end of the world. • In fact it is common. Not every qualified person receives the interview, let alone lands the job – don’t make it too personal. • It is manageable – each opportunity presents a learning experience for the next so build upon it – put it to work for you. Invite the Lord into the job search with you. • Jesusunderstand rejection! Guard yourself from thinking that your initial efforts are all that are required in your search process. • Consider a farmer; who hoes a row, plants seeds, waters, fertilizes, weeds, waters some more, then waits …and waits…and waits… • Keep planting, following up, be patient, be diligent • Your search will bear fruit in due season Calvary Chapel South Bay 31

  32. Troubleshooting Not getting the results you expected? Go back to the basics. • Check your search engine profile • Is it too wordy or too specific • Not specific enough or missing data • Is the information correct • Key words and phrases – terms used drive response • Resume format may effect response as well Calvary Chapel South Bay 32

  33. Job Search Encouragement Pray and ask God where He wants you to be. • Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” NKJV • Turn to God, ask for clarity and help put things into perspective.
