What is a Megalodon? • A Megalodon was a prehistoric shark longer and wider than nearly two school buses with a length of more than 16 metres long the biggest being nearly as long as a blue whale. • Their teeth were approximately 7.1 inches or more making them the largest shark teeth ever found.

  3. Nail Biting Facts • Their main food source was whale! Including ones much bigger than themselves. • They swam the colossal oceans 28 to 1.5 million years ago during the cenozoic era • Megalodon teeth have been excavated in many places including New Zealand! And somehow some have been found at the bottom of the Mariana trench the deepest place on the planet!

  4. Megalodon vs. Great White • The Megalodon’s bite force was between 24,400 lbs. and 41,100 lbs. while Great White shark’s have a bite force of 4,200 lbs. • The largest Megalodon was 30m long while the biggest Great White shark was 11.3m long. • The Megalodon’s scientific name is Carcharodon Megalodon and the Great White’s scientific name is Carcharodon Carcharias
