  2. Concepts: • Move in close to the subject • Shoot with the lens wide • Use close-ups in every story • Exercise: • Using their cell phones, have students go up to each other and shoot very close and detailed shots of what each other are wearing.

  3. Concept: • People, not objects • Exercise: • Have students describe scenes entirely based on people taking part in the activity. No words about things allowed.

  4. Concept: • Take us where the eyes don’t go • Exercise: • Send students on a video scavenger hunt to get unusual angles on everyday items at school. Supply the list and see who can come up the the most ideas.

  5. Concept: • Use natural frames • Exercise: • Have students go around the school to find objects that can act as natural frames in stories. Shoot still photos on phone and have prize for most creative.
