  4. SO WHAT DO WE NEED • A clearly articulated framework that provides information about: • The landscape issues at hand • Policy support [Existing and Required] • Multi-functionality of landscapes • Landscape actors across levels • Enabling environment & existing mechanisms

  5. HOW AND WHY • Scenario analysis – setting the scene • Identification of emerging themes • Stakeholder identification and mapping • Policy and project initiatives that are already in place– knowledge sharing/ brokering • Work plan development – Supportive policy initiatives/ way forward

APPLICATION AREAS • This approach has been successfully applied to two initiatives including : • Integrated Landscapes management initiatives across five landscapes in Kenya • Scaling up the adoption of trees on farm for food security in four landscapes in Ethiopia and Rwanda of varying AEZ characteristics
