Survey of more than 1,500 Auditors Concludes

that Audit Professionals are Not Maximizing Use of Available Audit Technology

Audit technology tools other than data analysis were not available in more than half of the audit departments according to the survey responses.

The majority of audit departments had not even begun a software evaluation process and had no plans to make technology tools available to their staff. Less than 5% were evaluating vendors.

Software Cost

Most training is on the job rather than formal

Only 7.5% reported formal training by third parties or

outside the office.

Clearly the impediments to becoming a more savvy tech user are enough to prevent many auditors from using more advanced audit tools.

Therefore the focus of this presentation is to assist attendees in using technology starting with our old friend EXCEL.
