  3. 2. What should I do if I don’t have my class materials? • If there’s time, go back to your locker to get it. • Ask a friend if you can borrow what you need from them. • Ask the teacher • Do this BEFORE the tardy bell.

  4. 3. What should I do when I enter the classroom? • Sit in your assigned seat • Take out your planner • Read the screen and write the “To Do” in your planner.

  5. 4. What happens if I’m tardy to class? • If you are tardy to class, come in as quietly as possible and sit down in your seat. • The teacher will note your tardy in the attendance. • If you are frequently tardy, there will be consequences like a note home and/or lunch detention.

  6. 5. Where do I sit? • You will have an assigned seat. • Seats will change at least every six weeks, but usually more often. • If the seats are in a different arrangement, check the screen for directions on where to sit.

  7. 6. What should I do when it’s time to leave class? • Make sure you have put away all materials. • Make sure you throw away any trash. • Wait for the teacher to dismiss you.

  8. 7. How will I turn in work? • If it’s before the tardy bell, work may be placed in the pink Turn In Basket • After the tardy bell, the teacher will ask you to pass your work to the front of your row. • Make sure your first and last names are on your papers. • Work should not be turned in if the teacher is giving directions or instruction. • Papers without names will not be graded and will be placed in the “No Name” basket. You should always look there first if you have a missing assignment.

  9. 8. What do I do if I need a drink of water or visit the restroom? • You should try to take care of these things during passing time. • If you have to go during class, wait for an appropriate time to sign out on the computer clipboard by the door. Make sure you take the hall pass! • An appropriate time is when: • The hall pass is available. • It is independent work time (not during direct instruction, films or timed station work). • It is not the first or last 10 minutes of class.

  10. 9. What do I do if I need to see the nurse? • If you need a Band-Aid, see the teacher. • If you really need to see the nurse, ask the teacher and have your agenda ready to be signed. You will also have to sign out on the clipboard by the door.

  11. 10. How do I ask for supplies or to sharpen my pencil? • Sharpen your pencil and ask for supplies BEFORE the tardy bell rings. • If you need something during class, wait for an appropriate time to visit the supply cart. Please return any items you borrow from here.

  12. 11. What do I need to do to get make up work when I’m absent? • Ask the teacher or a friend about what you missed. • Check the “What Did I Miss?” files for the date(s) you missed for any hand-outs you might need.
