Why did the people of New Guinea not advance technologically? • Why did the Middle East lose its geographical advantage? • How was it possible for the farming and domestication methods of the Middle East to spread? What effect did this have on Ancient Egypt, Europe, the United States etc?

Does he ignore the role that people can play in shaping their own destinies? • Diamond claims at the end of the documentary that the inequalities brought about by geography are not set in stone. Do you think the people of New Guinea have the ability to catch up to Europe and North America despite their geographical disadvantages? Why or why not?
