What is it about? • Smallholder farmers, other poor food producers and consumers, particularly women, realise and maintain their right to food, development and sustainable livelihoods • More and better investment • International and National investment • prioritizing small holders and women food producers. • Adequate policies • National, Regional and International policies on agriculture, trade are coherent with hunger reduction goals • Effective and efficient global Governance on Food and Ag. • CFS reform, HTLF, Accountability, Coherence

What is it about? • Fair mitigation policies to keep the world below 1.5ºC to avoid catastrophic climate change – with rich countries moving first, fastest, and furthest. • • Funding for developing countries – over and above their promised aid commitments – to help developing countries adapt, and to pursue low-carbon pathways to development. • - scale, sources, destination, governance

  10. Biodiversity

What is it about? • Small farmers can provide vital services such as preserving biodiversity and conserving water but they also depend greatly on these resources. • A longer-term perspective on agriculture and resource conservation means shifting from a technology-only approach to an environment-centred paradigm. Rather than focusing solely on improved yields, agriculture and investment must also aim to promote environmental sustainability (intensive agriculture, monoculture) • As in the case of health, the application of TRIPs in the area of genetic resources for food, agriculture, and biodiversity requires fundamentally different strategies, according to the stage of development of a country (Trade rules angles)
