  5. Communities of practice (Wenger, 2006) http://www.ewenger.com/ • What are they? “Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.”

  7. What do they look like? Types of activities: • Problem solving • Requests for information • Seeking experience • Reusing assets • Coordination and synergy • Discussing developments • Visits • Mapping knowledge and identifying gaps

Meaningful Dialogue and Dissemination University teachers “have small ‘significant networks’ where private discussion provided a basis for conceptual development and learning, quite different from the ‘front stage’ of formal, public debate about teaching.” (Roxå and Mårtensson, 2009) Challenge: How can we share these practices further so they impact upon the practice of others?
