  1. Public Education Enrichment Fund Community Advisory Committee (PEEF CAC) The PEEF CAC serves as a conduit for informing as well as receiving input from SFUSD stakeholders (students, parents, staff, and other community members) in order to assist the Superintendent and the Board of Education to effectively allocate PEEF funding. The PEEF CAC’s insights, feedback and recommendations are prepared by the committee members for presentation to the Board and the Superintendent. The PEEF CAC’s recommendations are aligned to and support one or more of the District Goals in accordance with SFUSD’s Strategic Plan. • The 2012-2013 PEEF Expenditure Plan includes: • $17,408,000 in funding for Sports (Physical Education & Athletics), Libraries, and Arts and Music (SLAM) programs. • $17,408,000 in funding for Other General Uses (Third-Third) for ongoing programs in the areas of Learning Support Services, Academic Support, Family Support, Safe and Clean Schools, and General Infrastructure, Reserve Funds (to support school sites) and In-Kind Services. WHAT IS PEEF? The Public Education Enrichment Fund (PEEF) is a City Charter amendment passed by voters in March 2004 that guarantees city funding for public schools and preschools through 2015. The Fund includes support for arts, music, sports, and library programs; provides universal access to preschool; and supports other essential educational programs. Funding is shared by SFUSD and San Francisco First Five. Because of this enrichment fund, every public school student has access to a part-time librarian as well as arts and music instruction and schools with the greatest need have on-site social workers and nurses to provide comprehensive wellness services.
