  2. The First Zipper The zipper was made in 1893.The first zipper was made in Chicago, Illinois by Whitcomb Judson and Gideon Sundback. The first zipper was called the clasp locker. Universal Fastener Company manufactured the first zipper.

  3. Inventors of the Zipper Whitcomb Judson used a process for making the zipper. I think he made a blueprint as he went along so he could remember what he did before. Then, he sent it to a manufacturer (Gideon Sundback)at Universal Fastener Company. Gideon Sundback Whitcomb Judson

  4. What is the Zipper The zipper is a fastening device consisting of two parallel rows of metal, plastic, or nylon teeth on adjacent edges of an opening that are interlocked by a sliding tab.

The zipper beat the button in the “Battle of the Fly” in 1937. The zipper was first a hook- and- eye shoe fastener. Zippers can be used on almost any clothing.
