  6. 5th Grade Placement • Teacher conferences • Teacher input in writing • Parent questionnaire • Individualized Education Plans & 504 Plans • Heterogeneous Grouping

  7. DAILY SCHEDULE • 8:00 – Entry into the building • 8:10 – Instruction Begins • Reading • Language Arts • Mathematics • 11:15-12:15 – Lunch/Recess

  9. BAND/CHORUS • Band – Twice per week • Chorus – Twice per week • Scheduled during recess

  10. WEEKLY SCHEDULE • Science – Four times a week • Social Studies – Four times a week • Art – Once a week • Music – Once a week • Physical Education/Health • Two times a week • In-Class PE/Health • World Language –Two times a week • FRENCH, ITALIAN, SPANISH

  11. SPECIAL PROGRAMS • Resource Room • Self-Contained Departmentalized Special Education Programs • Reaching, Achieving, Succeeding (RAS) • English as a Second Language • Q.U.E.S.T. – Gifted & Talented • PALS with Grade 8 Students

  12. P.A.L.S. P.A.L.S. (Peer and Leadership Support) is a program designed to develop a sense of community at Park Middle School and help make incoming 5th grade students feel welcome and safe. We lead group activities and discussions. These activities gives us the chance to get to know each other better and learn how to work collaboratively and respectfully while having fun! Approximately once per month, P.A.L.S. peer leaders co-facilitate hands-on activities with 5th graders to help make a successful transition into middle school.
