  8. God is Immutable • God is unchanging • He can change His mind but never His principles. • His nature and attributes will never change. • Mal. 3:6 • If man’s repents then God may change His course of action. (Nineveh Jonah 3:10)

  11. Theophany • Is a visible manifestation of God • By God own choosing • In visions (Abraham) • In dreams (Jacob) • In His glory (Moses) • Pillar of fire and Pillar of a cloud

  12. Angels • May be a Theophany • Gen 16 (Hagar) • Judges 13 (Manoah and his wife) • Exodus 3 (Moses and the burning bush) • Dan. 3 (The fourth man in the furnace)

  13. New TestamentTheophanies • None recorded • Jesus was far more than a theophany • God was not just appearing in a visible manifestation • Jesus was God Himself manifested in the flesh. • John 1:1 & 14, Col. 1:15, Heb. 1:3 and John 1:18

  14. Does God have a body? • God did not have a physical body until Jesus Christ. • Descriptive terms such as hands, eyes, arms are only figurative language or anthropomorphisms • Interpretations of nonhumans in human terms for understanding by humans.

  15. Terms • Heart- not a fleshly human heart but God’s love, intellect, and emotions. • Right Hand- not a physical hand but God’s power and righteousness. • God created His own body through Mary • The Elect will see God as He really is through the resurrected gloried body of Christ.
