  7. The SKRUM project was conceived with the purpose of identifying and assisting young boys and girls from families of limited resources who show promise in the game of rugby. It will serve to provide these boys and girls with opportunities to play rugby, and in so doing, create an environment where not only their playing ability can be developed, but they will be encouraged to become successful young leaders within their communities and the country. 8. The SKRUM programme will visit 3 schools per week (Coaching/Educating +/- 50 players per school) Groups of 3 to 4 schools will be identified in one area within easy traveling distance of each other, so creating the possibility of a “mini league” between schools and hopefully the formation of an “adult club” in the future. Therefore:- the SKRUM programme will hope to visit 135 schools and reach 6 750 young rugby players and train 270 potential Rugby Coaches over a 12 month period. • Conduct Coaching, Officiating and Health Education courses throughout the Kingdom for teachers presently teaching, to equip these teachers with Basic Rugby Coaching Skills. The Coaching Courses will be followed up with Coaching/Health Education Workshops to ensure all Coaches are kept informed and assessed. • Conduct Rugby Coaching and Officiating Courses at the 3 Teachers Training Colleges. This will ensure that teachers taking up their new teaching posts will have the Coaching skills to Coach basic Rugby at schools level. • The programme will identify and train suitable Coach Trainers to assist in promoting the SKRUM programme. • SKRUM in partnership with the HIV/AIDS and Health Awareness Programmes within Swaziland will educate all participants in social and leadership skills necessary for healthy and responsible living.
