Paul Menzel GOES-12 Sounder and Microwave Radiometer (MWR) Retrievals of Total Precipitable Water over the 5 ARM-SGP sites in the Central U.S. were analyzed over 2005 and 2006. Evaluation reveals that the 3x3 field of view retrievals provide significant improvement over the first guess of TPW. Single field of view products are associated with higher RMS and Bias than the 3x3 retrievals and the first guess, over this time period.
