Requirements A sustainable web hosted e-learning solution to short course/briefing development: • Bite-size, accessible, flexible, reliable and user friendly courses • High quality alternative to expensive/inefficient f2f briefings • Utilise video, audio and Flash to enhance content/user experience • Cost effective, sustainable, centrally managed solution • Data capture/reporting module to track progression • ‘Rapid response’ solution

Building internal capacity • Two modules developed by Kineo • ‘Fit Note’ • New paternity rights • TUC Education will develop subsequent modules with the support of Kineo • Kineo will provide training to staff and policy officers (subject matter experts) • Rapid e-learning project management • Rapid e-learning authoring/writing • Articulate • TUC Education will develop tutor training to further build internal capacity

Usage • Rapid solution means we can develop content quickly – provide topic overviews • Courses ‘lead’ reps into longer classroom based courses • Attractive solution to offer to affiliates • Tackling Racism, false economy, green issues, apprenticeships, equality issues, retirement age • Tutor briefings • Ideal for officer training (m-learning) • Internal training

  11. Future An integrated mobile technology solution which will complement the web-hosted content • Mobile learning – accessible via smartphones and other mobile devices • Increase accessibility, flexibility and usage of training modules • Ideal campaigning and organising tool

Next Steps Develop CPD function to record reps learning via Moodle: • Record and track activity/progress • Identify learning needs and objectives • Provide CPD reports • Allow learners to create personal development plans • Allow TUC and affiliates to identify reps’ training and development needs
