  2. A few notes about today’s training • Please note this is an advanced training. If you require clarification, kindly raise your hand. • There are many different solutions to recording, editing & posting trainings into a archive. This training is designed to provide steps that are most compatible with G2M / G2W. Every technology highlighted in this training is available to your program for free! • Other recorded materials that are substantially shorter in run time and smaller in file size have many more hosting option such as youtube.

  4. Why record a meeting? • Meetings: • Not everyone could make it to the meeting • You forgot to “take notes” • Screencasts: • Record short on-demand tutorials for your staff on a variety of topics. • Record short infomercials for use on your website

  6. Setting Up GoToMeeting & GoToWebinar for Recording

  7. In the top panel navigation, click on “view.” Enable “recording.” Be sure that the word recording is checked. Recording in GoToMeeting

  8. .WMV format is highly recommended. The “GoTo” format can not be edited or privately hosted. Be sure audio recording is checked. Choose the Correct Preferences[File][Preferences][Recording]

  9. Audio preferences can not be changed once recording begins. Be sure you have selected the proper file transfer location beforehand. G2M Recording in progress

  13. Recording • Click “Start Recording” to start • Click “Stop Recording” to stop

  14. Managing the Recording:Important Recording Tips • Only those phone attendees who have successfully entered the audio pin will be recorded. • Only someone designated as an organizer may record! • You may have multiple organizers in both GoToMeeting & GoToWebinar.

  15. Post Recording Tips • Please be patient. It may takes a few minutes before your recording file begins converting. • Please remain patient! If it was a large, robust training, it may take up to sixty minutes for the transfer to be completed. • Make sure you know where the file is stored.

  16. They can be stored on a computer hard drive or in a shared storage area. Most recordings should be less than 100MB in file size. If the recording organizer is not the editor / poster, you can use yousendit.com (or similar service) for transferring files. Keep Your Recordings Organized

  17. Editing a wmv file generated through G2M or G2W NTAP recommends that Movica be used for .wmv file editing

  18. Editing in Movica • Download Movica (http://movica.en.softonic.com) • Open your .wmv file in Movica (your meeting will be in your Documents folder) • Use selection markers to choose where you would like to edit the video • Save new video ………………….Let’s see a demo!

  22. Step 2: Download Format Factory (http://www.formatoz.com/) to convert file from WMV to FLV (Flash)

  25. Screencast.com • Free and Paid Accounts ($10/month) • Videos can be password protected or publicly accessible • Can be viewed through the Screencast or embedded on the site • Allows owners to retain most rights to the file
