PIT_fixture_assembly.SLDASM(display state: Default_DisplayState-1) grand_master_kin_assembly.SLDASM external rail supports for testing insertion of detector and engagement with kinematic mounts before PIT exists rail_holder_assembly.SLDASM end supports position end flanges for bonding to PIT and position rail_holder_assembly.SLDASM note: the external rail support and PIT don’t occur together as shown here. It is either one or the other supporting the rails

  5. rail_holder_assembly.SLDASM provides precision placement of the rails for two gluing operations: bonding to PIT match bonding to external rail supports • precision drivers: • glue bond gap to PIT ( 50 m ) • avoid binding ( 25 m or 200 m, depends on carriage design) • proper engagement with kinematic mounts ( 400 m ) • detector collision avoidance ( 250 m ) with rails numbers give allowable envelope size

  6. grand_master_kin_assembly.SLDASM this assembly (shown with a PXL half) has 3 functions: placement of the kinematic mounts for bonding to the PST support of the kinematic mounts for tests of detector insertion mechanism Support of detector halves in the Coordinate Measuring machine for spatial mapping operation. Position of the kinematic mounts should accurately match the locations in the PST

  8. MSC.SLDASM • used latest model from Eric and Jason with following changes: • increased length of PIT • added a flange at the original PIT ending • drilled some holes for the rail mounts and kinematic mounts
