REEP Overview The Rice University Education Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) combines a rigorous business school education with an innovative educational entrepreneurship curriculum, creating a model for school leader preparation. There are currently 24 million high school freshmen in Texas. About 1 in 5 will graduate or pursue post-secondary educations.

  3. REEP’s goal is to train a cadre of professionals ready to lead excellent public schools for all children, particularly those who are currently underserved in the Greater Houston area.

  5. Who Should Apply? Ideal REEP Candidates Aspiring and current K-12 school leaders who work in public school campus in various Houston school districts or charter schools School Leaders: educators who would like to pursue/retain leadership positions in their school campus (teachers, assistant principals, principals, etc.). School Districts: please note that we are not limited to HISD only. We accept applications from various school districts located in the Greater Houston area.

  6. REEP Pathways Aspiring Leaders Outstanding educators who aspire to school leadership and desire a strong foundation in management. Advanced Leaders Sitting principals seeking a strong foundation in management. MBA Outstanding educators who aspire to school leadership and desire an MBA.

  8. Educational problems may be overwhelming and often times educators feel like they are fighting in isolation. It’s critical that you have like-minded peers to support you.

  9. Often times we are trying to solve the same problems in the same old ways and then expecting different results.

  13. TUITION Tuition for the MBA for Professionals Class of 2016 is USD$95,500 and includes a $1,000 deposit due upon acceptance. Thanks to a generous grant from the Houston Endowment, REEP is able to offer Houston area educators a very generous partial tuition reimbursement if they meet the program eligibility requirements. Students are responsible for financing the cost of the REEP MBA during the course of the two-year program and will only be allowed to apply for tuition reimbursement after graduation. INCLUDES Attending classes with other MBA For Professionals students, enrollment at the Summer Institute Program, education networking events, REEP Lecture Series, parking in Central Campus Garage, meals, REEP t-shirt and course materials. DURATION 2 Years (Aug 2014-May 2016) FOR • Current educators who want an elite MBA from a top 25 nationally ranked business school to move forward in their careers. • LEADS TO • Texas Principal Certification (as needed) • CURRICULUMThe REEP MBA combines the basic business disciplines offered at the Rice MBA For Professionals with specialized electives and exceptional REEP classes allowing educators to apply business theories to the school setting.

INCLUDES • Enrollment at the Summer Institute Program, education networking events, REEP Lecture Series, parking in Central Campus Garage, meals, REEP t-shirt and course materials. • CURRICULUMAll REEP curricula is designed to teach strategic frameworks to articulate problems, explore alternatives, and reach solutions. • Sample courses include: • Strategy, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Teams and Decision Making, Accounting/Finance, Data Analysis, Marketing, Operations, Communications and Negotiations DURATION 12 MONTHS (Mar 2014-Mar 2015) FOR • Current educators who hold a masters degree and desire focused business training leading to certificate. • LEADS TO • REEP Certificate • Texas Principal Certification (as needed) TUITION $28,500 but subsidized by the Houston Endowment and discounted to $8,500 for Houston Area Educators

INCLUDES • Parking in Central Campus Garage, meals (breakfast & lunch), REEP t-shirt and course materials. • CURRICULUMAll REEP curricula is designed to teach strategic frameworks to articulate problems, explore alternatives, and reach solutions. • Sample classes include: • Leadership, Problem Solving, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. • Classes are taught by Rice University faculty and nationally recognized guest speakers. DURATION 2 weeks (July 6-17, 2015) FOR Current educators who hold a Master’s degree and desire to gain valuable knowledge of the best business practices to apply to their school campuses. Classes are engaging and highly interactive. TUITION $10,000 but subsidized by the Houston Endowment and discounted to $6,000 for Houston Area Educators
