  1. Causes & Effects of Crooked Teeth A crooked tooth is not only disturb the way you look. It can also have a lot of negative effects on your general health if you don’t get it fixed in time. Generally, the cause of crooked teeth is genetic, just like eye and hair color. And there are many other cause of crooked teeth such as early loss of baby teeth, severe facial injury, or poor childhood habits, such as tongue thrusting, thumb sucking and excessive pacifier use etc. Here Are The Most Common Cause Of Crooked Teeth: Early loss of baby or adult teeth which can allow shifting of other teeth; Improper placement of dental restorations (for example, fillings or crowns); Too small of a jaw to accommodate emerging teeth – this can crowd the teeth and cause them to shift;

  2. Gingivitis (gum disease) – this can damage the jawbone leading to teeth shifting out of place. Misalignment of jaw after severe facial injury – wearing a mouth guard while playing sports can help you avoid tooth injury though not necessarily jaw injuries; Thumb sucking – this should be ended early on before this foreign object leads to damage to proper formation of the child’s mouth; Pacifier use – same explanation as for thumb sucking. It should be discontinued before too long. 7 Ways Crooked Teeth Effect Your Health 1.Causes gum disease – Gum disease develops when bacteria in our mouth forms into plaque. The problem accentuates when your gums don’t fit securely around your teeth, leaving more room for bacteria to grow. 2.Problems cleaning your teeth – crooked teeth make it difficult to clean between them using a toothbrush or floss, allowing bacteria to grow and plaque to form. 3.Creates tooth wear – Crowded bottom teeth often cause one or more teeth to protrude, which can rub against your upper teeth. Over time, this can lead to undue wear of tooth enamel. 4.Creates chewing difficulties – Protruding upper and lower teeth may rub together in a way that prevents normal jaw alignment, making it difficult to chew. 5.Causes bad breath – As bad as crooked teeth look, they can smell even worse. Lingering mouth bacteria is generally the reason behind Bad breath, which can be difficult to eradicate from in between crooked teeth. 6.Self-confidence – If you smile with fine pearly white teeth, definitely you will more confident. This has been proven by multiple studies and makes sense intuitively. If you are ashamed of your teeth, you are also less likely to smile.

  3. 7.Decreases overall health – Few people realize that dental issues can seriously affect more than just their oral health. Studies by the ADA have proven that oral infections caused by bacteria buildup may lead to more serious ailments, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes and pneumonia.
