  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-11096293 Problem with Jerusalem • Judaism claims Jerusalem should be theirs because: • The site of the ancient and holy Solomon’s Temple • Serves as a place to mourn the destruction of Solomon’s Temple • It is the only capital of the Jewish state • The center of Jewish life for over 3 thousand years ever since it was conquered by King David • God’s giving their Holy Land back to them • Islam claims Jerusalem should be theirs because: • Believes it is the place where Mohammed rose to Heaven • Where he got instructions regarding Islam laws • Christianity claims Jerusalem should be theirs because: • Location of Jesus Christ’s childhood and adulthood • It’s where he preached and where his resurrection took place • One of the first Christian communities was located in Jerusalem
