  1. THE WORD OF GOD The word “BIBLE” means “Book of Books” 66 books penned by God through 40 different men over 1,600 years and not one contradiction. The Word of God: • Convicts - Heb. 12:4 • Converts - Rom. 10:17. • Corrects - 2 Tim. 3:16. • Cleanses - Psa. 119:9. • Conceives - Matt. 4:5. • Conquers - Eph. 6:17. • Comforts - 1 Thess. 4:18.

  2. THE CANONICITY OF THE BIBLE What does Canon mean? • It comes from the word “kanon”, meaning a “rule” or a “critical standard”. “A fixed amount”; “A defined limit.” Canonization Is The Process Of Determining Which Writings “Measured Up” As Real Scripture. Some Bible versions have certain books that are not found in the KJV. Some versions use the 13 books of the Apocrapha. The word “Apocrapha” means “hidden author”. • Canonization Was Only The Recognition Of A Book’s God-given Authority (By book I mean a certain book of the Bible such as Genesis, or Isaiah) --- Canonization did not give the book its authority. The authority of the Book was not determined by canonization, but by God. Canonicity is determined by God and discovered by man. The 66 original autographs that would make up the Bible as we know it today have never been in the same place at the same time. The Bible, as we have it today, has never existed in the “original”. The Bible was compiled long after the originals had been lost or destroyed.

  3. THE WORD OF GOD God's Word is Very Important to God • Psalm 138:2 ‑ I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. At the name of Jesus: 1. We are saved 2. We are Baptized 3. Demons are cast out 4. The sick are healed 5. Dead are raised 6. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess It is totally of God 2 Timothy 3:16 ‑ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: It is the only Source of truth Isaiah 8:20 ‑ To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

  4. THE WORD OF GOD God wrote the Bible; Man just wrote what the Holy Spirit inspired them to write Hosea 8:12I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing. 2 Peter 1:19‑21 ‑ We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

  5. THE WORD OF GOD A small history of the Good Bible • 150 AD Lucian ‑ First man to compile N.T. "School of the Scriptures" Copies were made by Waldensians 1500 ‑ Press was invented • Erasmus wanted to provide a good Greek text ‑He put out five copies. The translators used Erasmus' copy.

  6. THE WORD OF GOD July 22, 1604 ‑ King James announced his choosing of 54 men. Three years after being commissioned, the men did nothing but pray. In 1611 there were no guidelines for spelling or punctuation. English was at its height. • Editions ‑( never changing a word, just correcting spelling and punctuation): • Edit ‑ To prepare for publication. • Revision ‑ To look over and correct. ‑1611 ‑1613 ‑1617 ‑1629 ‑1638 ‑1743 ‑1769 ‑ Final Edition • There have been six editions to the one. 6+1=7 (Psa. 12:7) Purified seven times.

  7. THE WORD OF GOD HISTORYBAD BIBLES Pantaeius ‑ Founded A Catechetical School in 1 A.D. in Alexandria. • Taught for twenty years. • Taught humanistic philosophy. • Collected corrupt manuscripts to teach his students that the Scriptures were not infallible. Clement ‑ Took over the school. • Worked very hard at collecting corrupted manuscripts. • Taught his students that the Bible was full errors. • Denied the deity of Christ. • Laughed at the miracles of Christ.

  8. THE WORD OF GOD Adamantus Origen ‑ 230 A.D. ‑ Took over the school. • Wrote Greek Hexipla ‑‑ the supposed Septuagint or LXX which is a hoax • Most influential leader of his time. • He changed words which did not agree with his doctrine. • He said Jesus was a created God. Eusebius ‑ Followed Origen. • Constantine's false prophet • Constantine ordered him to write a Bible that the people would love.

  9. THE WORD OF GOD Jerome ‑ Used Eusebius' Bible to put together a Catholic Bible. • 1546 ‑ Catholic church put the Apocrypha in the Bible. Brook Westcott/Fenton Hort ‑ Worked on a text for thirty years. • Took out 8,000 words from the greek text • Used corrupted texts of Alexandria. • They were unpatriotic. • They were Catholic compromisers. • They did not believe in the infallibility of the Scriptures. • They consulted and contacted the dead. • These men were not saved.

  10. THE WORD OF GOD • English Revised Version ‑ 1881 • American standard Version ‑ 1901 • Revised standard Version ‑ 1952 • Living Bible ‑ 1971 • Phillips N.T. ‑ 1972 • New International Bible ‑ 1973 • Good News Bible ‑ 1976 • New American Standard – 1977 And a new version every 10 months

  11. THE WORD OF GOD The King James Bible is the only Bible that comes from the Antioch line of text • All other Bible versions come from the corrupted Alexandrian text

  12. THE WORD OF GOD The King James Bible is the only Bible that comes from the Antioch line of text • All other Bible versions come from the corrupted Alexandrian text

  13. THE WORD OF GOD The NIV has 64,000 words missing or 1/10. It is not a complete Bible. This is what they omit • "Lord", is omitted 31 times • omits Hell ‑ 30 times note - There is no word like “Hell.” • They try to separate, "JESUS" from "CHRIST" - 42 times

  14. THE WORD OF GOD Changes they made for an, "easier understanding." • Rose up to play ‑ Indulge in Revelry • Told ‑ Conscripted • Old ‑ Obsolete • Called ‑ Designated • Smell ‑ Savor • House ‑ Habitation • Man ‑ Mortal • Old ‑ Elderly • Straight is the way ‑ Difficult is the way

  15. THE WORD OF GOD Grade Reading levels of the New Bibles • NKJV - 6.9 KJV - 5.8 NIV - 8.2 • The King James Bible has the lowest grade reading level This means that the new versions are not only harder to read but harder to memorize.

  16. THE WORD OF GOD Satanic Tricks of the Trade to get you to doubt the Word of God • The Greek text says ... (Which one? There are 24 Greek texts) • The original says ... (They have never seen an original) • Erasmus was pro-catholic - This is a lie ...... His text is band by the catholic church. They dumped him. • You are worshiping a book - they worship scholarship • The words of the KJV need updating - The enemy would rather change the word of God than use a dictionary. If we are so stupid because we use the King James Bible why do they need a bible that’s “easier to understand.” • No major doctrine is changed - they are not taken away but they are attacked. • The best text reads • A better translation reads • There is only one book they are trying to get rid of and that is the King James Bible. They aren’t trying to get rid of a Greek text. Every new version always compares itself to the King James Bible. If they were trying to make easier and easier Bibles to read then they should be comparing it to the previous version that just came out. • They all use the King James Version verse and chapter numbering system.

  17. YOUR QUIET TIME Spending time reading your Bible is spending time with Jesus John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. What is Jesus' name?... The Word. Revelation 19:13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. If you don't have a love relationship with Jesus, it’s because you don't love His word. You only love Jesus as much as you love the Word of God.

  18. YOUR QUIET TIME Every Christian should have a time that he spends with God every day. • You should thank or praise God every day • You should worship God every day. • You should confess your sins to God every day. • You should have a designated time and a designated place every day where you spend time with your heavenly Father. Psalm 29:2Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name;worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. Psalm 96:9O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness:fear before him, all the earth. Worship ‑ prostrate, homage, inward intimacy with the Lord. in the beauty ‑ a designated time Holiness ‑ a designated place • God says you are to have a designated time and a designated place.

  19. YOUR QUIET TIME God commands us to read the Bible. Isaiah 34:16 ‑ Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. John 5:39 ‑ Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. You are to gather bread every day. Exodus 16:4 ‑ Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. Jesus said He was the bread that they were gathering John 6:51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

  20. YOUR QUIET TIME Five Essentials In Order To Have A Quiet Time AMOS 3:3 1. Scheduled Time- to get up, to read, to pray. 2. Scheduled Place- that is quiet, that is out of the way. 3. Scheduled Reading- number of pages in the Old Testament, New Testament, and Proverbs. 4. Scheduled Prayer List- thanksgiving, confessing, others, power. 5. IT GIVES ASSURANCE OF SALVATION. I John 5:13-14These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. John 5:39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

  22. YOUR QUIET TIME 3. YOUR FAITH IS INCREASED Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 4. IT CLEANSES YOUR MIND. John 15:3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Psalm 119:9Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

  23. YOUR QUIET TIME 5. IT PRODUCES PEACE. John 16:33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Job 22:21Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. 6. IT GUIDES US IN MAKING DECISIONS. Psalm 119:99I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. Psalm 119:105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. 7. IT GUARANTEES OUR SUCCESS. • Josh 1:8; Psa. 1:3; I Tim. 4:15; James 1:25
