What is Expected in OET Speaking Sub-test • Speaking is one of the challenging sections of the OET.  The speaking sub-test is usually delivered individually and takes around 20 minutes to complete. • There is a short warm up session between the candidate and the interlocutor.   5. Start the conversation • Some students make a mistake of not starting the conversation on their own and expecting the interlocutor to start the conversation. You should not forget that interlocutor is playing the role of the patient and you are the person in charge and playing the role of doctor, nurse or dentist.
