  2. Read Instructions carefully • Before you start attempting reading sub-tests in OET, we advise you to read the test instructions and case notes carefully. Spend at least 5 good minutes on reading the instructions, planning and organizing your ideas and then start attempting. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog

  3. Skim and Scan • The role of skimming and scanning techniques come into play in the reading section of the OET. Since the passages are quite long and reading all of them will consume most of your time. Therefore, to understand the core of the passages, you must learn to skim and scan the content. Skimming and scanning would help you understand the main ideas about the passage. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog

  4. Detailing not required • The part A of the OET reading section does not require reading in detail because you will not be asked  to write fine details about the passage. Keeping the time given in mind (which is only 15 minutes), read the passage quickly using skimming and scanning techniques to fill the gaps. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog

  5. Take care of spelling • Take care of spelling and grammatical mistakes in the OET reading sub-test. You can spare some time at the end for checking spelling mistakes. Your answers will be marked wrong if they are spelled incorrectly. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog

  6. Develop reading skills • The duration of the OET reading Part A is only 15 minutes and you are required to read 3-4 long passages in this stipulated time. Develop fast reading, fast thinking and comprehension skills for this section.  Reading multiple passages can be frustrating, develop fast reading skills to understand and complete the test on time. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog

  7. Practice • Practice is the key. Practice sample OET test papers as it will prepare you what to expect in the OET test. You will get to know what types of questions are being asked in the OET test and what their expected answers are. https://www.linguasoftech.com/blog
