  1. M.A.C./M.H.S.A.A. Leadership Summit

  2. Introduction • The MHSAA in conjunction with the MSU’s Youth Sports Institute, will be leading a group of breakout sessions to better equip Sophomore and Junior team captains for their important role in school athletics.

  3. Topics of Discussion • Some of the breakout sessions will be on these topics: • * Sports Nutrition • * Leadership Tactics & Tools • * Team Building • * Conflict Resolution • * Stress Management • * Communication Strategy • * Sport Psychology • * Effective Time Management • * Celebrating Competition (Rivalries) • * Character • * Coach-Player Liaison Lessons • * Being a Positive Peer Role Model

  4. Summit Info • The summit will be held at the MISD on Monday 2/5/07. It will begin at 9:00 am and end at 1:15 pm. • Cost will be $20,00 per attendee. This will include breakfast, lunch and all supplies. • Each school can send up to 10 people (this includes adults). We recommend 1 or 2 adults who may be interested in being a Captains Council sponsor and the rest students. • The MHSAA would prefer that the students be sophomore or junior (captains?). • You may want to share a bus.

  5. Conclusion • This leadership summit is another example of the MAC’s investment and belief in the importance of sportsmanship. Please help support this worthwhile program by sending your schools representatives. We will have a sign-up deadline of the January 1/8/07 meeting, If not all of the spots are taken then schools may have the opportunity to send more then their ten reps.
