  8. “Brainstorm Phase” by Committee w/ IE&A Support • Survey to Staff & Faculty • Focus Group(s) for Other Constituencies (Advisory Group) • Further develop your web-based explanation of the QEP and include links to samples • With IE&A support, develop and administer a survey to staff & Faculty soliciting topic and ideas • With IE&A support, conduct one or more focus groups of other constituencies (Trustees, Business and Industry, Educational Partners, Students, etc) - begin with the Advisory Group Phase 1: QEP TOPIC SELECTION Explanatory Notes (2)

Committee Review of Input & Definition of Alternatives • Consult w/ SACSCOC Staff Liaison • The Committee reviews and analyzes input, then filters and organizes ideas into a manageable number of broad potential topics or focus areas for referral to IE&A • The Committee consults with the SACSCOC Staff Liaison through the Accreditation Liaison (Council) where deemed appropriate Phase 1: QEP TOPIC SELECTION Explanatory Notes (3)

Committee Review of Findings Topic Recommendation to Leadership Team The Committee reviews all the findings, requests additional data/information as required, develops and presents prioritized topic selection recommendations to the Leadership Team Phase 1: QEP TOPIC SELECTION Explanatory Notes (5)

  12. Leadership Team Review and Approval (or return for further work) • Consult w/ SACSCOC Staff Liaison • Committee Presentation to Community • Transition to Phase 2: QEP Committee Formed • The Leadership Team, in consultation with the Committee and the Advisory Group, approves the final topic • The topic selection is vetted with the SACSCOC Staff Liaison through the Accreditation Liaison to identify potential pitfalls • The Topic is presented to all constituencies and the QEP Committee is formed Phase 1: QEP TOPIC SELECTION Recommended Process (6)
