  2. 1) Bay A small body of water extending into land **Smaller than a gulf

  3. 2) Cape A point of land extending into water **Smaller than a peninsula

  7. 6) Delta A low, fan-shaped area of soil at a river’s mouth

  8. 7) Desert Land area with little or no precipitation and few plants

  9. 8) Gulf A part of an ocean or sea that extends into land

  10. 9) Island An area of land completely surrounded by water

  11. 10) Isthmus A narrow strip of land between two bodies of water that connects two larger areas of land
