  5. 2013 KEY MESSAGES • Safe Schools End preventable deaths from allergies and asthma at school by stocking medications that save lives in an emergency • Clean Air Decrease harmful air pollutants to protect clean air for the health of all, especially those with asthma • Protect Access to Meds Keep useful OTC medications containing pseudoephedrine available to patients without a prescription • Protect Federal FundingSupport research for better diagnosis, treatment, education, and cures for asthma and allergies

AAFA’s POSITION: UNDESIGNATED MEDICATIONS IN SCHOOLS • Safety for all pupils at risk for asthma and anaphylaxis • Undesignated epinephrine auto-injectors and asthma inhalers available at schools in the event of emergencies • More states mandates of supportive policies at the school district level • Implementation at school district level
