Motivation and Needs • C@P Reinvented • Mission: • “Community radio is about volunteerism, social engagement, independent and local music, learning, community capacity building, citizen journalism and more" (NCRA, 2009). • Different than commercial radio • Non-profit • Community building and participation • Education

Motivation and Needs • Community information needs • New innovative programs (Podcasting, webcasting, IPTV, etc) • Tourism, local artists, culture & literacy, non-profit org., and small business promotion • Limited access to commercial media • Youth involvement • Various volunteer positions Jassie

  8. Tech Tools We Use • Audio recording and editing software • Automatic DJ software • Streaming servers • Web and FTP server • USB Mic’s, Voice recorders, Pamela for Skype…

  9. Collaboration • Use of Web based collaboration platforms such is Wiggio to: • Share documents, templates, How To guides, web links, etc. • Do scheduling, virtual meetings and promote team work.

National Partnerships • Katimavik Youth Volunteer Work Experience (September 2009 – current) • Katimavik youth gain valuable radio experience as DJs, radio techs, interviewers, podcast editors … and learn about Wolfville community. • More available hours for public Internet access Chael Steve and Bill Nathan Tom and Franco
