  2. 7 May 2013 JOURNAL: Think of a time when you had to make a difficult decision. Why was the decision difficult? How did you make your decision? Consider what you know about Odysseus. How do you think he will make an important decision based on his previous actions?

  7. Images • * These can be symbolic in representation but are archetypal images because they reoccur • The special weapon • The cave • The monster • The chalice or cup • The box or chest

  8. Why do these archetypes exist? • They are simply patterns of life • Women CAN cause men problems • Life IS a journey that teaches us things • Those that weld special weapons ARE powerful Time does not change these simple truths and literature continues to use them to tell our stories.
