Yakima Avenue Tacoma, WA 98405 Registration & Fees Tuition $300 (before 8/29/14), $350 (after 8/29/14) Current CLPPC Members$275 (before 8/29/14), $325 (after 8/29/14) New Professionals (5 years or less) $275 (before 8/29/14), $325 (after 8/29/14) CLE/CEU Credits - requested 12.25 CLE credits (incl. 0.5 ethics) and 6.5 CEUs (provider #1975-272) for Psychologists, Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors by the National Association of Social Workers Washington Chapter through Collaborative Professionals of Washington. 2-Day Collaborative Law Basic Training The Uniform Collaborative Law Act (UCLA) was passed August 2013 in Washington State. So, NOW is the ideal time to add Collaborative Law to your practice! The Collaborative Law Professionals of Pierce County (CLPPC) is offering the basic training for all attorneys, mental health professionals, and financial professionals. This training is for new practitioners or seasoned professionals interested in refreshing their skills. Training objectives include: Learn the basic theories, practices, and skills needed to begin a Collaborative Practice. Learn the collaborative model and its importance as a dispute resolution tool designed to reconstruct interpersonal relationships and create client-centered solutions. Introduce interest-based negotiation and other problem-solving tools needed to successfully conclude cases. Understand the dynamics of interpersonal conflict in a divorce situation and how effective communication can neutralize conflict. How, when, and why to form a collaborative team and the roles of each team member including the clients, attorneys, mental health professionals, and financial specialists. Why the collaborative process can be a healing process for clients and their children. How to assess client’s suitability for the collaborative process. Learn and observe the process for taking a collaborative case from the first interview to the final documents. Ethicalconsiderations of collaborative professionals. How to start your collaborative practice. This training meets the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals Standards for Basic Training and qualifies you for membership in CLPPC as well as many other collaborative practice groups. Both the 2-Day Collaborative Law Basic Training and the Basic Mediation Training are required prior to beginning collaborative practice. Jennie Bouska-Coddingtonis a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, CDFA™, licensed Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO-314335) has practiced collaborative law since 2009 and is a presenter at Second Saturday divorce workshops. Leslie Bottimore, Attorneypracticing for almost15years, and past president of CLPPC, with collaborative cases in Pierce and King Counties since 2007. Tom Cena, Attorney has practiced collaborative law as since 2006, is the former president of CLPPC, and the 2013 president of Collaborative Professionals of Washington. Phyllis Duncan-Souzais a mental health professional, who trains child welfare leadership and staff and serves as a child specialist, divorce coach and family specialist. Peggy Fraychineaud Gross, Attorneyhas 30 years of practice in family law, 8 years in collaborative and is currently a member of both King County Collaborative Law and CLPPC, currently serving as an At Large member of CLPPC. Tammis Greene, Attorneyand collaborative practitioner since 2006 and former President of CLPPC Teena Johnson, Attorney practicing thirteen years, and past president of CLPPC, with collaborative cases in Pierce and King Counties since 2008. Wendy Rawlings is a mental health counselor serving individuals and families in King and Pierce County.  She has been a Collaborative law professional for five years. Ana Maria Sierra, is a clinical psychologist with 30+ years of practice serving children, adults and families experiencing divorce. She serves as a child/family specialist and divorce coach. All attendees receive a manual with handouts, notes, and articles referenced in the training as well as a thumb-drive that contains valuable checklists, forms, handouts, and articles.  Participants will have all the materials they need to start their collaborative practice.
