Citizenship Planner Tracker and Student Cards Planner Tracker • 1 per quarter • Keep stapled in back of planner • Bathroom pass included • Progressively higher expectations each quarter • Identifies behavioral categories • Must be signed and dated by teacher Student Cards • 2 colors (Yellow/White) • Cardstock & Laminated • Must carry on person and be able to produce to receive privileges • Does not have to be worn on lanyard • Team and student name on card

Building wide expectations & Cit Card working together • Created Building wide expectation posters in: Hallways (example with quality levels) Restrooms Arrival/Dismissal Cafeteria • Have building wide descriptors for “look for's” Disrespect Disrupting Class Off Task Not Following Directions Bus Conducts (Adm) Gum Electronic Devices Public Displays of Affection (PDA) EXAMPLE: When walking down the hallway, a student is continually on the left side. Code/sign/date it as “not following directions” or NFD. After a previous conference with student, he/she continues to loiters in restroom. Code/sign/date as “NFD”

  5. Classroom expectations & Cit Card working together • Critical to discuss and share with students very clear classroom expectation, procedures, and practices related to Cit card “look for’s”. What does disrespect, off task, disrupting class, being unprepared, PDA, etc. look like, sound like, & feel like. • If you are going to hold students accountable for these gateway behaviors, they need to understand classroom/team/building expectations.

  6. PBS- Positive Behavior System • T.I.G.E.R. (rewards for level 4 students) • A filled out row can be traded to remove 1 cit card mark to be eligible for PAWS • Can redeem 2 cit card marks per quarter • Students with no cit card marks & filled PBS line will be eligible for extra incentives

Team Logistics Card Check & Swapping • Will be sorted by homebase classes • Check cit card & swap out new card status • About every two weeks (Dates TBA) • Completed during Homebase & Morning RTI block (?) Data Tracking • Track data for Pyramid of Interventions & incentive eligibility • Excel spreadsheet provided • Help communication between explo, core, parents, counselors, and adm.

Keep in student management binder. • Level 1 (Move from Gold to White) Learning Journal/goal setting by student Teacher/Team Conf Contact Explo Teacher Parent contact by student Referral as needed (Counselor, Social worker) Begin Triage Process Continue BIST process • Level 2 (Move from White to No card status) Teacher/team/Explo conference Notify administration, counselors, social worker, & recovery Contact Parents Continue BIST process Reassess goal and formalize early intervention strategies (ex: restricted passing time, triage, team determined interventions, etc). • Level 3 • (No citizenship marks remaining and/or continuing to receive cit marks) • Part 1 • Formalized Alternative Interventions/B.I.P. • Meet with parents,adm, and counselors • Place on least restrictive environment continuum • Continue BIST process • Part 2 • After 2 “No Card” cit marks- Office Referral for Administrative action

Incentives- Short and Long Term • High • Occurs at end of quarter • Building Scheduled • Can redeem PBS marks • Examples: • PAWS • Mega Event • Special Assemblies Low • Occur every card swap • Team scheduled Examples: Hat day Sunglass day Twin day Free Homework pass ETC. Medium • Occurs at mid- term • Team Scheduled Examples: Ice Cream truck Board games Electronic games Dodge ball Pizza party Pancakes Order food for lunch Daily Privileges- Yellow Cards- Leave 1 min early (Lunch & end of day) White Cards- None
