Ontario’s Provincial E-Learning Strategy The provincial e-learning strategy provides provincially funded school boards with some key tools: • a learning management system (LMS or D2L) • a learning object repository (Ontario Educational Resource Bank - OERB) • access to credit courses • access to online resources for classrooms • a seat reservation system (SRS) • a community of practice (e-Community).

  3. How York Region Uses some of the eLearning Resources • Resources already being used in the York Region include: • OERB • By teachers • By students and parents • LMS (Desire2Learn) • Offered through Virtual Schooling • 44+ courses are offered

OERB • How some York Region teachers use the OERB: • Modules from the OERB are used in the classroom, and students are able to access these objects • This resource has been used for credit recovery, alternative education, student success, et al.. • Parents have been accessing modules to support their children at home with curriculum • How to login @York Region: • Login information is available at BWW under the “Online Tools” tab
