Declaring incompetency • A medical doctor is tasked with conducting a thorough psyche evaluation after any brain related injury or psychological trauma, the court is tasked with relaying the doctor’s recommendation and enforcing it. In the case that the patient fails to be able to make reasonable and competent decisions, the court will have a power of attorney appointed in order to make those decisions for them.   4. BethlemRoyal Hospital A famous mental institution that was re-founded in 1330 as a hospital and gained the reputation of housing some of England’s most malevolent patients. Conditions were extremely poor with the most violent patients being chained to the floor and restrained in strait jackets.
