Andrew Stoner is a renowned Australian professional with a rich career in politics. He has served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Oxley, the electoral district. He was the leader of the National Party of Australia for more than 11 years and Deputy Premier of New South Wales for more than three years. Andrew Stoner is a renowned Australian professional with a rich career in politics. He was born in Brisbane in 1960 and after his birth, his family moved to Port Macquarie. He holds a Bachelor’s of Business degree from Queensland University of Technology which he earned in 1987. Upon graduating in 1987, he received a Master’s of Business Administration degree with first class honours from James Cook University, North Queensland.
He has served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Oxley, the electoral district. He was the country’s first Minister for Trade and Investment who lead numerous missions to South East Asia, Korea, Japan, and the Middle East. He also played a key role in establishing NSW Trade and Investment offices in key markets. He was the leader of the National Party of Australia for more than 11 years and Deputy Premier of New South Wales for more than three years.
On 16 October 2014, Andrew Stoner resigned as New South Wales Deputy Premier due to family reasons. After politics, he joined his own consulting business as the Director. Presently, he is serving more than one organization. Besides his own firm, he is also serving as the Advisory Board Member at NSW Leaders, Senior Adviser at Moelis and Company Pty Ltd, Patron of the Australia China Enterprise, trade & Cultural Association, Director of Slasherteck Pty Ltd and Director of Sports Aviation Flight College Australia Ltd.
Recently, Andrew Stoner attended the Bo’ao Forum for Asia conference in Sydney and was delighted to notice the success. The Bo’ao Forum is a leading forum for discussions about economic cooperation in the Asia Pacific region. The agenda of the conference was the key and developing area of cooperation between Australia and Asia - financial services.
